Prerequisites

This series is designed for Ayurvedic students, professionals and enthusiasts. There is no prerequisite to join, though we recommend a foundation in Ayurvedic principles (like our Principles of Ayurveda all online course) to support your comprehension of the material.

The success of an Ayurvedic Practitioner or Doctor is paramount to their expertise in selecting and combining herbs and formulations. There are thousands of formulations documented in the Ayurvedic root texts. In this series, improve your knowledge of how to select, combine, prepare and apply the most broadly used herbs and formulations in clinical scenarios.

Curriculum Overview

In each session of the series, you will learn the most commonly used and effective Vedic formulations as documented in the classical texts. Each class will cover multiple formulations. You’ll receive an overview of the formulation, contents of the formulations, method of preparation, specific indications, dosage forms, and appropriate adjuvants. Additional discussions will include special precautions, plus do’s and don’ts while taking formulations based on the specific nature of the recipe.

The primary root text followed in this program is Sahasrayogam and Ashtanga Hridayam for the formulations, and Bhava Prakasha for the individual herbs.
