Authentic Ayurveda That's Been Preserved Through Generations in Kerala

Kerala Ayurveda Academy is rooted in one of the world's longest-living Ayurvedic traditions. As part of Kerala Ayurveda Limited, our connection extends beyond the classroom to a living ecosystem of Ayurvedic hospitals, clinics, herbal gardens, and wellness centers in Kerala, India.

Students learn from authentically trained ayurvedic experts who were educated in India and raised within this tradition.

And as students move up the pathway, they can continue their learning through clinical observation, though our internship and immersion experiences at our wellness retreat centers in Cochin and Bangalore in India.

More Experiences, In Their Own Words

Kim G., HAC Graduate

"Kerala Ayurveda Academy provides students with a well-rounded, deeply educational, and inspiring curriculum. The Vaidyas are extremely knowledgeable, professional, and patient in their instruction. After every weekend intensive I am left with the same feeling I have after a healthy meal: satisfied, well-balanced, and ready for what's next!"

Dhanashri K., HAC Graduate

"Sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Vaidya Jayarajan Kodikannath for bringing this ancient science to regular folks like us, from the comfort of our homes. You and all the Vaidyas' experiences in India, as recognized Ayurvedic providers, made the information all the more valuable. Thank you Kerala Ayurveda team!"

Rina P., Academy Graduate

"Studying with the teachers at Kerala Ayurveda Academy was a truly meaningful experience. The curriculum is very well structured, and I was able to immediately apply what I learned in my own life and begin supporting a few people with their lifestyle and dietary habits."

Options for Anyone, Anywhere

Attend live sessions online from anywhere, or in person at our Academy and Wellness Center in Milpitas, California. Every live session is recorded for replay — so your work week, a family commitment or class timings will not prevent you from learning the material.

The first level (HAC) is 6 months: 6 Weekend Intensives, 12 virtual classes, 5 group mentoring sessions, and 1 clinical practicum day, with recorded lectures and assignments at your own pace.

Learn From Experienced Ayurvedic Experts From Kerala

Every level of the pathway is guided by BAMS-trained teachers called Vaidyas, who come from India's traditional system of Ayurvedic education and practice. They shape the curriculum, oversee the academic experience, and teach the core Weekend Intensives.

What is BAMS? The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery — India's accredited university degree spanning Ayurvedic theory, classical texts, anatomy, pharmacology, and clinical training. It's the difference between learning about Ayurveda and learning it from inside the tradition.

The Questions We Get Most

Almost everyone starts at Level 1, the 300-hour Holistic Ayurvedic Coach certification, because the foundation is the same regardless of how far you eventually want to go — and the hours transfer directly upward. The exception is students who already hold formal Ayurvedic training, which an advisor will assess individually.
It's a twenty-minute conversation with a real advisor, not a sales script. You'll talk through your background and what you want out of studying Ayurveda, and the advisor will recommend a starting level and walk you through the cohort schedule, format options, and payment plans. If none of our programs is the right fit, they will say so.
Not for the entry level. Students arrive from wellness, healthcare, and coaching backgrounds, from Indian and South Asian families studying formally for the first time, and from years of self-directed reading and practice. Upper levels require the levels beneath them.
Three things. The teaching sits inside an 80-year Kerala lineage as part of Kerala Ayurveda Limited, with its network of clinics, hospitals, and wellness centers in India. The faculty are BAMS-trained Vaidyas educated in India rather than instructors trained abroad. And the levels are built as one pathway, so foundational hours carry forward instead of being repeated.
The first level (HAC) runs six months and includes 6 Weekend Intensives, 12 virtual classes, 5 group mentoring sessions, and 1 clinical practicum day, with recorded lectures and assignments in between at your own pace. Weeks with an intensive are heavier than weeks without one. Upper levels run longer and require partial in-person attendance.
The first two levels can be completed online, with one practicum at Level 2. Attend live sessions from anywhere or in person at our Academy and Wellness Center in Milpitas, California. Levels 3 and 4 require partial in-person attendance. All live sessions are recorded either way.
Level 1 is a coaching scope: lifestyle and wellness coaching around daily routines, food, stress management, sleep, seasonal living, and habit change — not clinical practice. Counselor, practitioner, and advanced practitioner training sit at the levels above it. Many wellness professionals also use the entry level to deepen work they already do within the scope of their current profession.
Kerala Ayurveda Academy's programs sit on a pathway to NAMACB accreditation, and board certification eligibility depends on the level of training completed. An advisor can confirm exactly where you would stand based on your background and which level you start at.
