The Promise Ayurveda for Modern Living
First, the basics

So what is Ayurveda, really?

Some people may have heard the word or seen it on a tea label. The actual tradition is much deeper, much older, and far more practical than that.

01

It's the science of life, not a supplement

Ayurveda is a complete framework for understanding the body, the mind, and how they respond to food, sleep, stress, seasons, and stage of life. The word literally translates as "the wisdom of life".

02

It works through what you do every day

Ayurveda's most powerful tools are the food on your plate, the time you go to sleep, how you move, and the rhythms you keep across the seasons. Small daily inputs, applied with awareness, are where meaningful change comes from.

03

It's been refined for 5,000 years

Long before modern science existed, Ayurveda had a working model of digestion, sleep, stress, and seasonal health. The same framework that worked then still works now — and modern research continues to validate what practitioners have known for millennia.

Why this program

This program is built for real life — practical enough to use on Monday morning, deep enough for meaningful change.

Each week builds on the last, giving you tools you can apply immediately — to your digestion, your sleep, your energy, your stress. By the end, you don't just understand Ayurveda. You're living it.

01

28 weeks of live Ayurveda — designed to fit around  real life

Long enough for the practices to take hold. Short enough to fit around real schedules. By the end, you emerge feeling clearer, calmer, and more connected to the language of your own body.

02

Taught live by an Ayurvedic Doctor — every single week

Vaidya Jayarajan Kodikannath is the Academy Director of Kerala Ayurveda — and a seasoned clinician who has spent decades in practice. He brings both the depth of that experience and a genuine joy for sharing Ayurveda to every class. This isn't a prerecorded course. It's a live conversation with someone who loves this science deeply.

03

Personalized to your constitution

Ayurveda doesn't give everyone the same answer — it starts with who you are. The program helps you understand your unique constitution, then shows you how to make choices that actually work for your body, your sleep, your digestion, and your energy. You leave with a framework that's yours to keep.

04

Program rooted in classical Kerala lineage

Ayurveda has been practiced continuously in Kerala for generations — and this program draws directly from that lineage. The same Vedic texts, the same classical approach, brought to you by a BAMS-trained Vaidya from a Kerala family. Eighty years of living tradition behind every class.

Who this program is built for

If any of these sound like you, you're in the right place.

Ayurveda for Modern Living is for anyone ready to understand themselves a little more deeply — wherever that journey is starting from.

The Burnout Recoverer

You're tired of being tired

The 3pm crash. The restless nights. The stress that follows you into the next morning. You've tried things — and some of them helped, for a while. Ayurveda offers something different: a framework that helps you understand why your body responds the way it does, and what to do about it before it tips into burnout again.

The Seeker

You're exploring Ayurveda for the first time

Something brought you here — a book, a conversation, a quiet sense that there's a smarter way to take care of yourself. You don't need a health background or prior study. You just need 90 minutes a week and the willingness to pay attention to what your body has been whispering to you.

The Future Practitioner

You're considering Ayurveda professionally

You're not just curious — you're thinking about where this could take you. Ayurveda for Modern Living is where that begins. Experience the teaching, the tradition, and the science firsthand, with the same Ayurvedic Doctor who oversees the certification programs on the other side.

Where this path can lead

The possibilities that unfold   through this journey

You don't need to know exactly where Ayurveda will take you when you begin. The program creates a foundation that can support personal growth, professional development, and continued study.

Personal transformation

Many students begin Ayurveda for Modern Living seeking greater balance, energy, and wellbeing in their own lives. As they apply what they learn, they often develop a deeper understanding of their habits, rhythms, digestion, sleep, and overall health. The most meaningful changes often come through small, consistent shifts practiced over time.

A toolkit for your family

The principles of Ayurveda rarely stay with just one person. Students often find themselves bringing what they learn into their homes—through meals, daily routines, seasonal practices, and simple wellness habits that support the wellbeing of those around them.

A philosophy of everyday living

As the program progresses, Ayurveda becomes more than a system of health. It offers a framework for living with greater awareness—of the choices we make, the rhythms we follow, our relationship with nature, and how we care for ourselves and our communities.

A pathway to deeper study

For some students, Ayurveda for Modern Living becomes the beginning of a longer journey. After 28 weeks of study and practical application, many have a clearer sense of whether they would like to continue into the 300-hour Holistic Ayurvedic Coach program or the 600-hour Ayurvedic Health Counselor certification.

The 28 week journey

Four parts. One foundation for lasting change.

The program unfolds in four parts, beginning with the foundational principles that support everything that follows. Part 1 serves as the starting point for the journey, providing the framework needed for the remaining sections. From there, you may continue one part at a time or enroll in the complete four-part program.

01

Foundations of Ayurveda

10 weeks · 15 hours · The essential blueprint
+
Kick off your journey by discovering the timeless relevance of Ayurveda, an ancient system of medicine that offers practical insights for modern living. Across ten weeks of live class you'll explore the 5 elements and 3 doshas, the structural and functional basis of life, and learn how the mind body system works. You'll uncover what it truly means to be healthy from both a functional and structural perspective, and discover your own unique constitution, your personal blueprint for balance. By the end of Part 1 you have the roadmap for everything that follows, and a clear sense of how to bring Ayurvedic principles into your home and lifestyle.
02

Diet & Nutrition

Food as medicine and nourishment
+
Part 2 focuses on one of Ayurveda's most practical and transformative subjects: food. You'll explore the principles of Ayurvedic nutrition and learn how diet can be personalized according to constitution, season, location, and stage of life. Through the art and science of Ayurvedic cooking, you'll discover how qualities, food combinations, preparation methods, and timing all influence wellbeing. By the end of this section, you'll have a deeper understanding of how to make food choices that support balance, vitality, and long-term health.
03

Self-Care Routines

Aligning with nature's rhythms
+
Part 3 brings Ayurveda into the rhythms of everyday life. You'll explore sleep, exercise, meditation, yoga, breathwork, stress management, seasonal care, cleansing, and rejuvenation through an Ayurvedic lens. Rather than adding more to your to-do list, these teachings help you understand how daily habits influence physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. This section provides practical tools for creating a lifestyle that supports balance, resilience, and vitality.
04

Adding Life To Living

Bringing Ayurveda fully into life
+
The final section expands Ayurveda beyond personal health into a broader philosophy of living well. You'll explore beauty, immunity, energy, home remedies, and sustainable living through Ayurvedic principles. Learn how to support vitality naturally, care for common imbalances at home, cultivate greater resilience, and create healthier relationships with both your environment and the world around you. By the end of the journey, Ayurveda becomes more than something you know—it becomes a framework for how you live.

Questions we hear most often

A few important things to know.

I'm busy. Will this actually fit my life?
Yes. The program is designed to be manageable alongside a full schedule. Core sessions are 1.5 hours per week, and the daily practices are simple and typically take 10–20 minutes.

Rather than adding complexity, the intention is to help you integrate small, consistent practices that support balance in daily life.
What are the prerequisites?
No prior knowledge of Ayurveda or health background is required. The program begins with the fundamentals, and is designed for students coming in with curiosity and openness to learn.
It's January 29 already. Is it too late to join Part 1?
No. Part 1 runs for 10 weeks, and it's still joinable. All live sessions are recorded, so you can catch up on any classes you missed before joining. You'll also want to join now to enroll in Parts 2 through 4 when they begin.
Do I have to take all 4 parts?
No. Part 1: Foundations is the required starting point, since it provides the core framework for everything that follows. After that, you may continue with additional parts individually or choose the complete 4-part journey. Many students begin with Part 1 and decide how they would like to continue.
What if I miss a class?
All sessions are recorded and available through the student portal for replay. Students may attend live when available or learn asynchronously during busy weeks. The cohort structure is part of the experience, but flexibility is built in.
Is this a certification program?
Ayurveda for Modern Living is a 28-week introductory program, not a clinical certification. Students receive a Certificate of Completion upon finishing the program.

Those who wish to pursue professional study in Ayurveda often continue into our 300-hour Holistic Ayurvedic Coach (HAC) program or 600-hour Ayurvedic Health Counselor (AHC) certification, aligned with NAMA competency standards.
Will I be able to coach others or treat illness after Ayurveda for Modern Living?
This program is designed for personal transformation and household wellness, not clinical practice or professional certification.

Students gain practical tools to support their own wellbeing and that of their families. Those who wish to work professionally in Ayurveda may continue into our certification pathways.
Who is this taught by?
Classes are led by Vaidya Jayarajan Kodikannath, Academy Director of Kerala Ayurveda USA, along with other experienced Vaidyas and faculty depending on the session.

Vaidya Jayarajan is a Kerala native from a traditional Vaidya family, BAMS trained at Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala, with more than two decades of clinical and teaching experience.
